I wanted to show you one of the first things I made when I started digi-scrapping! I wanted to use the word art that I had created and I also needed a prayer journal for our new Bible Study at our church. Well, I scraplifted a design from Shabby Princess "Shabby Mommy' kit and used this basic template I made and added the word art to the larger grey area. I measured the cover of a notebook and made my template that size. To make the edges blend better, after I trimmed it the best I could, I actually used a nail file to smooth the edges. I looked for a notebook that did not have a spiral binding so I could just glue it to the cover. I then cut a strip of paper from a paper sack, of all things, to glue over the binding. I am not sure I needed to do that but I wanted it to kinda look shabby chic....so then I used a foam brush and put 2 coats of modge podge over the papers to "varnish" the outside. Voila! Finished... Thank you for the 8.5 x 11 Template. I scrapbook in this size as it is more convenient for me and sometimes have trouble adapting from 12 x 12. Thanks for sharing and for all of your hard work and talent.
