Savory Sunday Recipe

Hey all, it's Tabby here and I'm bringing you the first Savory Sunday Recipe post, though today is Monday, lol. We got so busy yesterday celebrating Easter and spending time with the family that I forgot to post.

Today I'm giving you one of my favorite bread recipes that was given to me by a neighbor. Beer Bread. Now I am not a beer drinker at all so this sounded odd to me but once I tried it, it's very yummy. You can even make a second loaf to freeze for later!

Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and flour. Add beer and continue to mix, first using a wooden spoon, then your hands. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees ) for 50 for 60 minutes. The top will be crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spread.
So that's it for this week. Have fun!

sounds wonderfully easy! I will have to try this, my husband prides himself for his home made bread that takes all day to make (rises three times) - I will have to make this to show off.
