Well I guess with all the hurricane readiness, I neglected posting more of this Proverbs 31 lady. I love verse 26 "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." You know the older I get, the more I have to bit my tongue. Not so much because what I am going to say is so bad, its that I really want to guard my words with wisdom. Now, I am not always successful. But, I guess it is a natural result of wanting to grow in Christ. For this lady, it was just natural it seems. She just spoke with wisdom. How can I get to that place? Practice! Practice you say? How does that work? Well the more we practice, walking with the Lord, listening to Him and his guidance, seeking to speak with wisdom, the better we will get at it. And to give faithful instruction. Now there is a challenge. Too often, I want to give 'Teri's advice" (which is not always Godly, to say the least) I mean I may give worldly advice to my kids, without really thinking about what Christ would have me say to them. You see I think, as a mother, I know what's best, AND WANT WHATS BEST, for them, too often, without regard for Christ. And I may speak as a mother (nothing wrong with being a mom! You know what I am saying here, right?) and not a faithful servant of Christ. I bet if you think about what you say, you may find that you too, are like me. Wanting to say the right thing, but often failing. Well I have great news! We are pleasing to the Lord when we seek Him and desire to grow in Him. So, keep strolling down that narrow path, and as you do, you too, will find yourself more and more like this Proverbs 31 gal! Enjoy the weekend! His, Teri

I'm Not Scared!
I have been fretting the last few days, as you well know, with the storm Ike threatening to come ashore close to us. Well it looks like we were spared, but please continue your prayers for those that are going to be hit by this hurricane. I couldn't help but think of the title..I'm not scared" but I did have a few restless nights. I have been working with a kit by Jessica Edwards at Digital Paper Hearts named "Trick or Treat". It is a cute kit and very versatile. I made these two layouts and she has agreed to let me put them on my blog as freebies. Please go over to http://www.digitalpaperhearts.com/ to see her things. Be sure to leave a nice comment thanking her for letting me offer these freebies!
This QP1 is available with and without the hanging bats. I called these layouts "Boo Spooky Boo". I love how these layouts turned out. The only Halloween picture I had was this one of my little grandson when he was 2. The second QP2 "Boo Who?" really shows off the festive colors of Jessica's kit. I hope you can find some "Spooky Boo's" out there to put in these freebies! Take care! His, Teri

Woof! Woof! And "Top Ten Reasons" Hurricane Season is Like Christmas
I told you to be on the lookout for Meow's buddy Woof! And I won't disappoint! HeHe...I used an overlay on the one of my awesome dog, Hitch. And I changed the bevels, but on the overlay for download it is the basic one that I have always done. I was able to mess a little on my computer today. It looks like that Ike will go north of us, but I can't imagine the headaches around the Houston, Galveston area. Pray for them. I am hoping to work on a few more goodies this weekend if we are able to keep our electricity. I am ( I was gonna say "pooped" but changed my mind! LOL) tired tonight so, it wont be a long post. But for those who might be effected by Ike, I leave you with this email I got and found it to be humorous.
Top Ten Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas
10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows).
9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping
gear, flashlights).
8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.
7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".
6. Family coming to stay with you.
5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling.
4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.and . . . .
1. And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas . . ....
At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house!

EEK! IKE!
Well we are about 30 miles from where they are predicting Hurricane Ike to hit on the gulf coast. We are in the process of boarding up, gathering water, food and flashlights. Please pray for us and for all of those that are in the path of this Category 3 hurricane. The last cat 3 hurricane to hit here was Celia, back in the 70's and it devastated many areas! We should be safe here, our house was built to withstand this type of weather ( it is my husbands, grandmothers house) It is cement, and I feel safe staying here. We just have a lot farm equipment and all that we can not go off a leave. Unfortunately, looters take there toll, as i am sure you have seen after Katrina. So, keep us in your prayers, and pray that we don't loose our electricity for too long! I will try to keep you guys updated, maybe even post a freebie or two to keep me busy till it hits! But right now, we have to prepare. His, Teri
*** Update*** they are saying that Ike should go in somewhere to the north of us now, as a Category 4 which is a HUGE hurricane. Although I am happy we may be spared the brunt of the storm, we are by no means out of danger, but we need to pray for those who will be in the hardest hit areas, no matter where Ike comes ashore. We are almost finished boarding up ( we have like 66 windows! ) and have been to the store and have all of our things necessary for loss of electricity. But its dark and kinda errie! I will keep you posted on the latest news. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
So here is a little something for you to enjoy in the mean time! Just click on the preview! Keep your eyes out for the "woof" its coming!

***available at Pretty Scrappy***click to go to the store***
Well after several email requests, I have decided to make the Alphabet Tiles for you to use in these layouts. They are in .png format and can be placed in any order in your layout making these very versatile. They are designed to fit a 12 x 5 layout for a finished frame approximately 14x 7. You may purchase the "Alpha Tiles" for $15.00 for the set including 2 sizes of spacers (for the sides) and the Star and Heart to complete your layouts. Just shoot me an email and I will send you a paypal invoice and then, when the payment is received, I will email you the zipped file which includes instructions as to how to use the tiles. Remember this is for the alphabet only and the frame is from Scrappy Shannon's and can be found at http://www.scrappyshannonsblogspot.com/. I made this preview with the "tiles" to show you that they fit together "seamlessly" . Hope you can use these. His, Teri
My Prince Charming....Uh, well almost!

Shedding Some Light
I have had several emails as to how to use the overlays that I offer. In the older ones there was an instruction sheet along with my TOU. Now that I have changed my TOU it is no longer included. So I will make this post, that way it will be available in my archives. I am also going to try to just make more of them in the .png to simplify things whenever possible. So, number one you need to have a program that accepts either .png or .psd files and works in layers. If it is a .png file, then all you have to do is open the file and put your photo in a layer under the .png file and adjust to fit! Its that simple. Now if you are using a .psd file, then you open the file, and put your photo above the layer with the black lettering, (the square box with the letters attached) and then you merge it onto the layer below by hitting "ctrl G" then you merge down. It is creating a clipping mask. You are in essence, making your photo take the place of (merging) the black letterbox. It takes on the attributes of that layer. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. Enjoy, Teri

OK, OK, I WILL DO IT !!!!!
I have had several name request for the new frames that I am making. If you want a specific name, you can email me the name or names you want, and for $1.50 per name I will make you a personalized name frame template. This is for the template only, no frame. I would suggest you try one of my freebies, make sure you like my work before you ask me to make your special name. The money would be non-refundable, so I just want everyone happy! I have not been interested in selling my things, but I would be willing to make you a special name for these darling "name frame" layouts. I will also let you know if it is not a name that will work with what I am doing. I don't think long names will look good, because the letters will be too small to put a picture in. 7 or 8 letters would be the max, to me. I prefer 5 to 7 letters to look the best. However, a short name could be preceded by a heart or something like that or at the end, or both ends to make more places for pictures. If you wanted to use a short name only, you could always scrap around it to add interest, but that is up to you. I will do 3 letter names if that is what you want, just understand that there will be a lot of blank space around your name. These would also be great to put the last name of a family on if that is what you want!
If you want this darling frame to put on your layouts to use on your computer, my friend Shannon over at Scrappy Shannons made this especially for me to go along with my name frames. All you gotta do is go over to her blog to snag it! http://scrappyshannon.blogspot.com/ Be sure to tell her thanks for taking her time to make this for me! It looks great if you are gonna show off your layout on your computer! A big thanks Shannon, for all the help, the countless questions you have answered for me and the encouragement you have given me. Hugs...
This is a no pressure deal for me, I will make them if you want, but if there are no takers on the names, that is ok too! If I make a name for you, and later that name happens to be offered for free, it is unintentional. An example, like HUNTER, or FAITH. I will not say I may never make those names for my blog readers, but if I make them at your request, then I will expect to get paid. Sounds fair, right? I for sure don't want you mad at me for making a name available that you once paid for. You are paying for the convenience of having the name you want, when you want it. If you are interested in several names, it is to your advantage to give me those names at one time to ensure that you will get them all at the same time. The names all have a beveled look to them so they really look nice when printed. From a distance, they look like they are really cut out of a mat. I will try it like this with the understanding that if it doesn't work out, then I will have to withdraw my offer to make personalized name frames. They will be in .png format only and are for personal use only.
I Just Saved You A Bunch Of Money.....
I wanted to try to make a name frame for my grandson's birthday. So, I found a frame (I got mine at Walmart for $3.00) and found the paper at Office Depot. It as about $40.00 for 20 sheets. I prefer a matte finish but all they had was glossy. You need paper that is at least 14" long because the finished size of the photo will be 12 1/2 x 5. The pack I found was 11x17 so I can get two name frames out of each sheet of paper. I just used my home paper cutter and cut 4.75" off the paper first. Then cut my width to the 4.75. Be sure to measure your paper to make it match your frame if it is not the same size as this. So with the frame for $3 and the paper comes to $1 you will have a TOTAL of $4 in this darling, unique gift! I hope yall are as excited as I am! I did not put my signature "little message" underneath the name because I thought it would limit you on what you can do with this! But, feel free to add something if you want to, like at date or what ever. I personally like it plain and simple. So below is my finished, framed "Photo Name" ready for me to wrap up for his birthday. I did try printing it with a black background also, and I personally did not like it at all. The white background shows off the photos much better. When you are choosing your photo's, you will have to play around with resizing them to get them to fit into the letter shape. Try to enlarge some to show close ups of faces and eyes, or zoom out a little to make their bodies fit in a letter. You will have to crop off some of the pictures once you get them in the letters where you want them, so they don't overlap the letter next to it. Just experiment with different photos. Black and White photos would look so good too! In my daughters we mixed in 2 B&W photos. I have had several comments about personalized names, I can not see me doing them unless I was paid something for my time. And I don't know how that would work out. I have not considered getting paid for anything but, it would be time consuming and I just don't think I could do it unless I was paid something. If you have some thoughts on this, let me know. But for right now, I would have to say, I am not doing name requests at this time. I'm sorry :( ****edited**** see above post
So here is the first one i have for you. I will be making many more for sure. Please leave me some love if you like what I do. After all, if I can spend the time to create these, put them on my blog, FOR FREE, surely a little pat on the back isn't too much to ask. It goes a long way in motivating me to make more :)
